Milngavie Pipe Band was founded in 1966 as a town pipe band and has always had an active involvement in the local community. We have represented Milngavie at home and abroad at festivals, competitions and other events and are pleased to invite old friends from all over the world to get in touch again on the Friends and Supporters forum.
The Pipe Major is Craig Bell.
Leading drummer is Alistair Ferguson.
The band was upgraded at the end of 2012-13 season to RSPBA Grade 3a and is a member of the Glasgow and West of Scotland branch.
Our tartan is Weathered Buchanan which is a local tartan and was chosen in tribute to the late John Buchanan, a former Provost of Milngavie and one of the founding members of the band.
The world renowned Corbie Ha is our home - it's the oldest building in the town, a former farm house which was bought from Colonel Douglas of Mains in 1972 and saved from demolition. It is now a B listed building in the Milngavie conservation area and an integral part of our identity. .
