Hello & Welcome:
To the newly redesigned official website of Milngavie Pipe Band, established in 1966 and based in the town of Milngavie, which is in the valley of the River Allander and is approximately 6 miles north of Glasgow city centre. The band was formed as a town pipe band and has always had an active involvement in the local community, having represented Milngavie town at festivals, competitions and other events at home and abroad.
Our continued support from the local community has seen the band obtaining and successfully saving from demolition the world renowned Corbie Ha, which is the band training, practice and tuition home as well as being the oldest building in the town of Milngavie. A former farm house which was bought from Colonel Douglas of Mains in 1972 and it is now a B listed building and an integral part of our identity.
The band tartan is Weathered Buchanan which is a local tartan and was chosen in tribute to the late John Buchanan, a former Provost of Milngavie and one of the founding members of the band.
We hope you enjoy your visit to our site and continue to return, and please feel free to leave us a message of support, interest, enquiry using the many routes now found throughout the site, and we would be pleased to invite our friends new and old all over the world to get in touch again either directly through our website or our new Supporters forum on Facebook.
